Question 1

What is authentic Joseph Pilates?

Accepted Answer

Authentic Joseph Pilates, known as Contrology, is the original method developed by Joseph Pilates. It uses precise, spring-based equipment for controlled movements that build deep core strength, improve posture, enhance flexibility, and restore natural movement. At Fit N Pilates in Plano TX, all sessions follow the original principles without modern fusions or modifications.

Question 2

How does authentic Joseph Pilates differ from modern Pilates classes?

Accepted Answer

Authentic Joseph Pilates follows the exact original principles without fusions or modifications. At Fit N Pilates in Plano TX, all sessions are private or semi-private with comprehensively trained instructors — never large groups. Instructor Denee completed over 1,000 hours of training under Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates' chosen protégé and keeper of the authentic method.

Question 3

What are the key benefits of classical Joseph Pilates?

Accepted Answer

Classical Joseph Pilates delivers stronger core muscles, better posture, reduced back pain, increased flexibility, improved balance, faster injury recovery, and long lean muscle tone. Clients at Fit N Pilates in Plano TX frequently report enhanced daily movement, relief from chronic pain, and improved overall body confidence after private sessions with Shannon Rene and her team.

Question 4

How does Fit N Pilates combine Joseph Pilates with functional medicine nutrition?

Accepted Answer

Shannon Rene integrates authentic classical Joseph Pilates with clinical functional medicine nutrition. As a Registered Dietitian (RD, LD) and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP), Shannon addresses both movement patterns and root causes including hormones, digestion, and inflammation. This integrated approach delivers more complete and lasting wellness results than either discipline alone.

Question 5

Who is Shannon Rene and what are her qualifications?

Accepted Answer

Shannon Rene is the founder of Fit N Pilates in Plano, TX. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Dietetics from Brigham Young University, is a licensed Registered Dietitian (RD, LD), a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP) from Functional Medicine University, a Power Pilates Comprehensive Trainer, and is certified in biomechanics from the Cooper Institute. She has taught at over 10 North Texas fitness facilities.

Question 6

Who is Denee at Fit N Pilates and what makes her credentials unique?

Accepted Answer

Denee is a classical Pilates instructor at Fit N Pilates who completed over 1,000 hours of apprenticeship training under Romana Kryzanowska — Joseph Pilates' chosen protégé and keeper of the authentic method. This lineage credential is extraordinarily rare and makes Fit N Pilates one of the only studios in North Texas with direct classical Pilates lineage training.

Question 7

What is functional medicine nutrition?

Accepted Answer

Functional medicine nutrition focuses on identifying and treating root causes of health issues rather than managing symptoms. Shannon Rene uses lab insights and personalized nutrition plans to target energy, digestion, hormonal balance, inflammation, weight management, and long-term vitality. This approach complements classical Pilates by addressing internal health alongside physical movement.

Question 8

Can Joseph Pilates and functional medicine help with back pain, weight loss, or injuries?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Clients at Fit N Pilates frequently achieve relief from chronic back pain, sustainable weight management, balanced hormones, and faster recovery from injuries or surgery. Private classical Joseph Pilates sessions are combined with Shannon Rene's root-cause functional medicine nutrition approach, and every session is fully customized to your specific condition and goals.
